Stacy Tan
Stacy Tan (YABAI YABAI) is a textile designer specialising in colourful prints and patterns. Graduating from Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo, Japan, she honed her skills in printmaking, with the knowledge of material studies and the exploration of different types of textile techniques like silkscreen, weaving and dyeing of fabrics.
After two years of experience working at a textile company in Japan, Stacy launched her own fashion label “YABAI YABAI” in September 2019 with a solo exhibition in Tokyo. With a mix of bright abstract shapes and a touch of humour, she creates original textiles and translates them into different forms like apparels and bags, depending on their purpose. Currently, she runs an independent textile studio in Singapore, where she continues to make fabric products with hands-on techniques and natural materials.
