Wish You Were Here

Exhibition at LYURO Tokyo Kiyosumi Hotel

Old tourist postcards used to often have the phrase “Wish you were here” on them. When we see something astounding while travelling, we often get reminded of a loved one and wished they were there with us to experience the same thing. LYURO Tokyo Kiyosumi Hotel is a boutique hotel facing the famous Sumida river in the East of Tokyo. It was also the hotel where I worked at as a concierge staff. Day in day out, we see different kinds of travellers and they often share with us their unique experiences in the city.

This exhibition was aimed to introduce the area of Kiyosumi Shirakawa with graphic elements and easy to carry souvenirs themed with the colour blue, which is also the main colour theme of the hotel. Alongside the merchandise, there was also table of postcards where guests can purchase stamps and take some time to write to their loved ones. At the end of the exhibition, we’ve sent postcards to many countries like Indonesia, Europe, Australia. We hope that the guests created special memories staying at the hotel.
